Master the HyperCurve and channel the HyperForce to become the greatest in the Universe

Independent developer Milky Tea Studios is proud to launch its high-adrenaline arcade-style sports brawler HyperBrawl Tournament today on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Rebuilt from the ground up to leverage the power of PC and consoles, HyperBrawl Tournament is a beautiful and fast-paced PvP experience, optimised for skill-based online or local ‘party’ play.

Smash, brawl and score your way to victory in relentless, high-adrenaline, 1-4 PvP arena battles. In a combination of sports and brawling, your heroes can choose different abilities and awesome weapons to bring into the arena as they fight for control of the ball, throwing it into the opposition’s goal to score points. Outside of that, there are no rules so don’t be afraid to fight dirty. A big part of HyperBrawl Tournament’s strategy revolves around mastering the HyperCurve – which allows you to control the trajectory of each throw in real-time – the HyperForce, your ultimate offensive powers that can be used to launch your opponents out of the arena.

HYPERBRAWL TOURNAMENT

“With HyperBrawl Tournament we set out to create the ultimate sports brawler,” said Jonathan Holmes, Founder & Studio Director of Milky Tea. “We wanted to combine the arena-based brawling of something like Super Smash Bros. with the teamwork and ferocity of our favourite sports. The result is something entirely unique, garnering it several gongs like the GDC Best in Play Honorable Mention and the EGX Crew Choice Award. We think this console and PC version has the depth, versatility, and tactile responsiveness to make it a permanent fixture in your multiplayer game rotation.”

In the build-up to launch, HyperBrawl Tournament has been a massive success in the festival circuit, where it was shortlisted as one of PAX’s top 20 indie titles of 2020, and charted in the top 4 during the Autumn Steam Festival in its category. Additionally, the HyperBrawl Tournament soundtrack by celebrated British music producer Steve Levine (The Beach Boys, Motörhead) received its own standalone release by Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Sony Music Masterworks.

In HyperBrawl Tournament, you choose from one of three classes of heroes. There’s the Swift class, which is fast and agile, but lacks endurance; the hulking Tank class, which can take and dish out the most damage at the expense of speed; and the Core class, which represents a balance between the two.

You’ll earn a huge host of cosmetic rewards and accolades by completing challenges. These range from conquering stages in the Campaign Mode across several difficulties, to accomplishing win streaks in the online multiplayer modes.

HyperBrawl Tournament offers an unprecedented degree of depth as you assemble a team of two heroes from three classes and arm them with unique weapons to make for an entirely unique playstyle. With 12 heroes to choose from and eight cosmic weapons to equip, there are over 4,000 unique ways to customize your characters. Play against the AI in the fully fleshed out single-player campaign, or face off against up to three other players in the quick match Arcade mode or the more competitive online Blitz mode, complete with its own global leaderboards.

HyperBrawl Tournament is out now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Apple Arcade.
