Sandberg Thunderstorm keyboard review

Heavy-duty, strong and stylishly bold – The Thunderstorm keyboard from Sandberg is a delight to use and to look at.

APPEARANCE – 5/5

I would never have thought lights would be anything more than a gimmick when it comes to keyboard purchasing. Previously, the only lights I’d have used were little more than the Caps Lock. By an easy click of a button positioned perfectly along from the space bar, the lights highlight every key, as well as decorating the thunderous cracks that would otherwise be hard to see. What makes the keyboard even better is that you don’t have to pick a colour when you buy it! The button cycles through a lava red, electric blue, and portal purple – a perfect and not overbearing choice for all people.

On the top row are keys for volume, play media, emails… etc. Your modern standard for a keyboard of this price – but it is presented nicely, using different shapes that fit the edgy rock-like structure.

PERFORMANCE – 5/5

Even if lights and decorations are not your things, the keyboard is wonderfully responsive. Tested with many games of Overwatch and Rocket League, my reactions were ‘that bit’ quicker than with a standard board. The keys have had no wear after a few weeks and no keys have become stuck or loose once. The keyboard also does not slip.

OVERALL – 5/5

If you want a keyboard that is responsive, looks great, comes with options in terms of its appearance, and is of a high quality for a good price – this is seriously the keyboard for you! I have no negative things to say about the keyboard.
