2023 will be a huge year for video games, with blockbuster new releases, industry developments, emerging trends, corporate reorientations, and big expectations. Despite the tendency of game companies to keep their plans under wraps, owing to lengthy production cycles for current generation consoles and years of delays, we already know a lot about what will be released in 2023.

However, the video game industry is never completely predictable because of how the global and economic environment affects what is and isn’t realistic.

The forecasts for the new year show a wacky path that is sometimes grounded in reality and other times full of optimism that all the video gaming fantasies will soon come true. Fasten your seatbelt, get a Mansion casino promo code, and enjoy what 2023 offers in video games. These are the major predictions for the video game industry for 2023.

Surprise Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury sequel

It caught everyone off guard when Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury debuted on the Nintendo Switch in 2021. The package included an exciting side chapter called Bowser’s Fury and an excellent remake of one of the Wii U’s greatest games. In this adventure, players are free to explore a large, open environment in search of treasure while trying to escape an aggressive Bowser who stalks them across the skyline.

It’s stunning, colourful, and one of the most creative Nintendo experiences ever. It seemed to usher in a new era for the Mario series after its release. However, it never developed into a more extensive experience in the end. We expect the long silence over Bowser’s Fury will end in 2023.

After the dust has settled on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo fans will gaze toward the future with optimism. A Bowser’s Fury-style sequel would be in the works in an ideal world.

No Switch Pro 4K in 2023

Over the last several years, complaints concerning the Nintendo Switch’s hardware performance capabilities have increased, especially in the aftermath of games like Pokemon Violet/Scarlet and Bayonetta 3, which all had problems with texture pop-in, delayed loading, and murky graphics. Despite this, we expect that the long-rumoured “Switch Pro,” capable of 4K graphics and stronger performance, won’t debut or be officially announced until 2023.

The economic environment is not ideal. The conditions for global manufacturing are unsuitable. As the cost of living pressures increase, people’s disposable income decreases, and there is a widespread feeling of uneasiness. Furthermore, it’s obvious that many people are still content to buy the models already on the market.

More Netflix releases for PC

In 2022, Netflix blazed a trail into the video game market by releasing a large selection of improved and original titles on mobile devices, including the heart-stealing Poinpy and the unexpected sequel Reigns: Three Kingdoms. It has acquired the mobile versions of several other important video game franchises, including Kentucky Route Zero, Into the Breach, Desta: The Memories Between, and Immortality. With an eye for high-calibre and lovable independent successes, Netflix seems to have hand-picked its mobile collection.

We foresee the corporation raising the bar again in 2023 and releasing its mobile services on more platforms, first on PC and later on consoles. It’s expected that Netflix will launch a significant publishing push across the board for video games, given its sizable partner roster, the addition of many independent studios, and aspirations to take up more real estate in the market. To create a PC multiplayer shooter, they have already established an internal studio.
