Ubisoft has pulled back the curtain on two big moves for The Division series at Gamescom 2025. The headline grabber is The Division 2: Survivors, a new “survival extraction experience” set to land in 2026.

Development is still early, but creative director Magnus Jansén, a series veteran since the original 2016 game, is leading the charge. Executive producer Julian Gerighty says the project will be built with heavy community involvement. He also reminded fans that he’s still tied to The Division 3 – though Ubisoft had nothing new to show on that front. Concept art for Survivors was shared, but details remain thin.

Ubisoft’s Division roadmap skips Division 3

Alongside Survivors, Ubisoft announced The Division Resurgence, a free-to-play mobile MMO. It’s set in Manhattan, a few months after the first game, and promises the same gameplay loop fans know, adjusted for mobile play. Importantly, it fills the story gap between The Division 1 and 2, making it a key piece of lore for dedicated fans.

Closed beta sign-ups are open now for those curious enough to give it a try.

Meanwhile, The Division 2 itself continues rolling along. The last major update, Battle for Brooklyn, hit earlier this year. The next big one, Year 7’s Season 2 “The Pact,” arrives on 9 September.
