The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered just got a major visual boost. A new fan-made 4K texture pack, created by Canarious, is now available on Nexus Mods, bringing sharper, cleaner visuals to the game’s weapons, armour, and clothing.
This is the first release in a bigger project called Unchained Textures that aims to upscale every texture in the game to at least 4K, starting with gear and eventually expanding to landscapes, buildings, and vegetation. These textures use AI upscaling to enhance fidelity while keeping the original art style intact.
The base Oblivion Remastered already brought solid improvements to the classic, thanks to Virtuos, but some textures still felt dated. This mod fills that gap beautifully. It’s especially noticeable when looking at side-by-side screenshots, everything looks sharper, yet still feels like classic Oblivion.
While the remaster has flaws like some outdated mechanics and occasional performance dips, it’s still a great way to revisit one of Bethesda‘s most beloved RPGs. And with these new textures, it’s even better.
