KRAFTON Game Union, a collective of studios that has been instrumental in the creation of a number of games including PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds (PUBG), today nominated Changhan (C.H.) Kim as its next CEO. Mr. Kim has served as CEO of PUBG Corporation since 2017. At a later date, KRAFTON will appoint Mr. Kim as CEO following a general meeting of shareholders and the Board of Directors, at which point he will serve as CEO of both KRAFTON and PUBG Corporation.

In 2015, Mr. Kim took the role of Executive Producer at what was then called Bluehole Ginno Games (now PUBG Corporation), where he oversaw the development of PUBG. In addition to helping launch the battle royale genre, PUBG went on to sell 65 million copies and receive worldwide acclaim, achieving seven Guinness World Records and winning multiple game awards worldwide.

Jinwon Yun of KRAFTON explains:

We’re excited about this next step for both KRAFTON and PUBG Corporation. C.H. Kim’s unrivaled experience in developing and servicing games has ensured a steady hand at the helm of PUBG over the last three years. His new role overseeing both companies will further strengthen PUBG’s growth in the global market and bolster the impact of its intellectual property while bringing a greater level of synergy to KRAFTON and its game studios.

C.H. Kim also explains:

Serving as the CEO of PUBG Corporation has been a unique privilege during my 20-year game development career. I look forward to taking that experience to help support the creative and inspiring developers that make up the KRAFTON Game Union. I’m consistently impressed with the professionalism of my KRAFTON colleagues at our sister studios, and we will continue to cultivate their distinct voices through a unique combination of independence and collaboration.

Prior to PUBG Corporation, Mr. Kim’s journey in the video game industry began in 2000, working in development, planning, and technology for a number of studios. Mr. Kim earned a PhD in Computer Science at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
