Keychron has introduced a new wired mechanical keyboard called the Q5 HE 8K. The keyboard comes with magnetic switches, a strong aluminium body, and a compact 95% layout. It is designed for users who want fast performance and a premium build.

The Q5 HE 8K is built using a 6063 aluminium alloy top and bottom case. The heavy metal frame gives the keyboard a solid and premium feel. Because of this thick aluminium body, the design is sometimes described as an “aluminium lump” style, which means the keyboard feels dense and sturdy on the desk.

One of the key features of this keyboard is its TMR tunnel magnetoresistive switches. These magnetic switches allow more accurate input detection and faster response compared to many traditional mechanical switches. The keyboard uses Keychron Ultra-fast Lime switches, which are made to provide quick and smooth key presses.

The keyboard supports an 8,000 Hz polling rate. This means it can send input signals to the computer much faster, which can help reduce delay during fast typing or gaming.

The Q5 HE 8K comes with high-quality keycaps made from PBT material. These keycaps use a double-shot process and follow the OSA height profile, which helps make the legends clear and long lasting.

Inside the keyboard, Keychron has used a Double Gasket mounting design. This structure helps reduce vibration and improves the typing sound. The keyboard also includes five layers of sound-absorbing materials to make typing quieter and smoother.

The PCB supports hot-swap, so users can change switches without soldering. It also features south-facing RGB lighting, allowing users to customise lighting effects while avoiding interference with many keycap sets.

The positioning plate inside the keyboard is made from aluminium, matching the strong outer case. This helps maintain a stable typing experience.

With its fast 8K polling rate, magnetic switch technology, and solid aluminium construction, the Q5 HE 8K aims to deliver a premium keyboard experience for both gaming and everyday use.

The Q5 HE is priced at $239.99, which is about $239.99 in the international market. The company has focused on both speed and build quality with this model.
