Gothic Classic, Gothic 2 Complete Classic, and Gothic 3 Classic are officially heading to PlayStation and Xbox in 2026. Yup, after all these years of being PC-exclusives, the original Gothic trilogy is finally breaking free.

THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive dropped this bombshell during their 2025 Digital Showcase, right at the end of the Gothic 1 Remake trailer.

And no, this isn’t a remake situation. The Gothic Classic trilogy is keeping its classic look, boxy characters, jagged edges, and all. But don’t worry, they’ve been touched up with HD visuals so they won’t completely melt your eyes on modern TVs.

Outside of the 2026 release window, though, details are thin. No word yet on new features or console-specific tweaks.

2026 will be all about Gothic

Today’s showcase also confirmed that the Gothic 1 Remake has been delayed to early 2026, marking nearly seven years since its announcement. But hey, at least now console players get to dive into the original trilogy while waiting for the remake to finally drop.

It’s also a milestone moment, 2026 marks 20 years since we last had a brand-new Gothic game. For console players who’ve never ventured into this cult classic series, this is where legends like The Witcher 3, Elder Scrolls, and even Elden Ring took notes.
