Remedy Entertainment has shared its financial results for the first half of 2025, and the studio looks dissatisfied with FBC: Firebreak’s post-launch sales.
This co-op PvE shooter launched in June and hit one million players within ten days. Most of that came from PS5 and Xbox, thanks to day-one availability on PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass. PC sales, however, fell short – especially on Steam, which Remedy hoped would be the main sales driver.
FBC: Firebreak was Remedy’s first self-published release, and it received mixed to negative feedback at launch. Still, the studio says the core experience works, noting players who stuck around for over an hour reviewed it mostly positively.

A major FBC: Firebreak update coming next month
Updates have already rolled out, and a “Major Update” is set for late September. This will include a reworked opening to fix the “frustrating” first hour. Remedy also plans targeted marketing and closer community engagement to grow the player base.
Elsewhere, Remedy posted a 63.5% revenue boost to $19.6 million in Q2 2025. Alan Wake 2 and Control continue to sell steadily, Control 2 is progressing well, and the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake remains in full production with Rockstar Games.
