DOOM: The Dark Ages will be released on 15 May for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. It will also be included with Xbox Game Pass, as announced by Bethesda Softworks and id Software.
About DOOM: The Dark Ages
This game is a prequel to DOOM (2016). It tells the story of how the Slayer’s rage began, taking players into a dark medieval battle against Hell. Developed by id Software, the game combines dark fantasy and science fiction in a single-player campaign powered by the latest idTech engine.

Players will use fan-favourite weapons like the Super Shotgun alongside new tools of destruction, including the Shield Saw. Combat takes place on demon-infested medieval battlefields. You’ll also ride a Mecha Dragon, pilot a massive Atlan mech, and crush demons with an enhanced glory kill system.
The origin of your rage
The story explores the DOOM Slayer’s rise as a feared force of destruction. Bound to serve gods and kings, he fights endless demon hordes while their leader tries to destroy him.

The game takes players through ruined castles, dark forests, ancient hellscapes, and more. These expansive levels are full of challenges, mysteries, and rewards.
