Ubisoft has released a new trailer showcasing the PC and new-generation console features of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, highlighting uncapped framerates, an in-game benchmark tool, ultra-wide resolution support, and more.

A new Assassin’s Creed experience in Feudal Japan

Set in Feudal Japan, Assassin’s Creed Shadows introduces players to an action-adventure experience featuring two protagonists—Naoe, a skilled shinobi Assassin, and Yasuke, a legendary samurai. Players can switch between them, utilising their distinct combat styles to navigate an open world filled with dynamic environments, changing weather, and seasonal transitions.

Key gameplay elements include building a network of spies to gather intelligence, recruiting allies with unique abilities, and customising a personal hideout to train a growing shinobi league.

Expansion ‘Claws of Awaji’ announced

Ubisoft also revealed details on the Claws of Awaji expansion, set to arrive later in 2025. This DLC introduces a new region—the island of Awaji—where players will hunt for a lost treasure while evading a deadly faction known as the Sanzoku Ippa. The expansion brings a new weapon type for Naoe, the Bō, along with additional skills, gear, and over 10 hours of content.

Release date and platforms

Assassin’s Creed Shadows launches on March 20 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store), Mac (App Store), and Amazon Luna.
