Apple has officially launched its new 14-inch MacBook Pro, powered by the all-new M5 chip, bringing major upgrades in speed, AI performance, and power efficiency. The company says this new model not only runs faster but also delivers up to 3.5 times better AI performance than the previous M4 model. With a smarter Neural Engine and next-generation GPU, the M5 chip makes everything from creative work to AI tasks smoother and quicker.

According to Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, the new M5 chip is a big leap for the Mac, especially in AI and graphics. He added that this upgrade makes the 14-inch MacBook Pro an ideal choice for students, developers, creators, and business professionals.

The M5 chip features a 10-core GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core, offering up to 1.6 times faster graphics than before. Tasks like AI image generation, large language model use, and 3D rendering are now much quicker. The CPU is also faster, giving a 20% performance boost for multitasking and creative applications. With 150 GB/s of memory bandwidth, users can now handle larger projects and models directly on the device without lag.

In real use, the new MacBook Pro shows impressive improvements. It delivers up to 7.7 times faster AI video enhancement, 6.8 times faster 3D rendering, and 3.2 times higher frame rates in games compared to older M1 models. Even compiling code in Xcode is 2.1 times faster than before.
For those upgrading from Intel-based or M1 systems, the jump in performance is massive. Apple claims up to 86 times faster AI tasks and 30 times better GPU performance with ray tracing. The new model also brings up to 24 hours of battery life, four hours more than M1 versions. Fast charging remains supported, reaching 50% charge in about 30 minutes.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro keeps its beautiful Liquid Retina XDR display, with a peak brightness of 1600 nits and a nano-texture glass option for reduced glare. It also includes a 12MP camera with Center Stage, six speakers with Spatial Audio, and studio-quality microphones.

Running on macOS Tahoe, the new MacBook offers helpful features like improved Spotlight search, Live Activities, and a refreshed Control Center. Apple Intelligence tools also improve with features like Live Translation and smarter Shortcuts that use AI to automate daily tasks.
Apple continues its environmental commitment, using 45% recycled materials, 100% recycled aluminium, rare earth elements, and cobalt in the new MacBook Pro. The packaging is fully fibre-based and recyclable, and production uses renewable electricity sources such as wind and solar.
