Today we have created a list of several games that have either already been released or will soon be available to play on various platforms. The one thing they all have in common? They all have the potential to be some of the biggest games of the year.

Minecraft Legends
Hey, have you heard about Minecraft Legends? It’s a new game that Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive are making, and Xbox Game Studios is publishing it. It’s an action-strategy video game and is coming out on April 18, 2023, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows. And get this, it’s a spin-off of Minecraft!
Explore a familiar yet mysterious land, full of diverse life, lush biomes, and rich resources. But this paradise is on the brink of destruction. Lead your allies in heroic battles to defend the Overworld from the destructive piglins.

Forspoken
Luminous Productions developed Forspoken, an action role-playing game published by Square Enix, which debuted on January 24, 2023, for PlayStation 5 and Windows. The game itself was originally due to be released last year, but following several delays, it took until this year for the game to be released.
The excitement around the game is due to many factors, the main one being the stellar development team. Although, since its launch, there have been mixed reviews about the game, mainly from critics complaining about the combat and how empty the game feels at times. But gamers themselves have been more welcoming of the game and seem to enjoy what it has to offer.
The plot of the game is built around the heroine Frey. The girl is transferred from New York to the mysterious Atia – a fantastic world filled with magic. Now Frey’s goal is to do everything possible to return home.
Dead Space
Dead Space is a survival horror video game released in 2023, which was developed by Motive Studio and published by Electronic Arts. This game is a remake of the 2008 title of the same name that was previously developed by EA Redwood Shores.
The game was made available on January 27, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. It marks the first release in the Dead Space franchise since 2013’s Dead Space 3. The game garnered generally favourable reviews from critics, who praised its enhancements to the original game.
Horizon: Call of the Mountain
In February 2023, Sony Interactive Entertainment plans to release Horizon Call of the Mountain, an action-adventure video game that is currently in development by Guerrilla Games and Firesprite. This new game is a spin-off from the popular Horizon series and is set to launch as one of the debut titles for the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset.
Its arrival was a shock to many, despite suspecting new content to be released. Fans never expected a new full-blown game to come for the series, especially not available in VR. But it goes to show how serious PlayStation may be about its new VR hardware and how it wants to push sales by releasing one of its most popular exclusives in more recent years.
Hogwarts Legacy
Hogwarts Legacy is the game fans have been waiting for since 2021. Initially, the release was planned for 2022, but the developers postponed it to February 10, 2023. Sadly, owners of older consoles will have to wait until April for the release.
What awaits you at Hogwarts Legacy? Well, you can find out in our review, but essentially this is a vast world in which there is always something to do. Not only Hogwarts is available for you to explore, but also the nearby villages – Hogsmeade, as well as settlements that have never been mentioned either in the Harry Potter films or in the books.
It all starts with choosing a character and the faculty where you will study. What has already disappointed the fans is that you cannot use the learned combat spells on other students. And you definitely won’t be able to crash on a broomstick.
But there is a bigger discussion around this game from the trans community as well, about the author and her hatred of their people. Some argue it’s just a game, and because they play it that doesn’t mean their opinions align with words Rowling may have said. But that hasn’t stopped hateful websites being set up that target streamers who play the game and bully them. We’re not saying what Rowling did was right, but also there is a way to respond appropriately, and victimising people isn’t the way to do it. Especially when you are arguing you’re being victimised.
Sons of the Forest
Sons of the Forest is an upcoming first-person video game that is being developed by Endnight Games and published by Newnight. This highly anticipated game serves as the sequel to the 2018 video game, The Forest. Sons of the Forest is set to be released on February 23, 2023, via early access for Microsoft Windows.
In the game, players will once again find themselves stranded in a dangerous forest, but this time with a new set of challenges and horrors to face. The developers have promised an immersive and thrilling experience, with a wide variety of new gameplay features and mechanics to explore.
With its upgraded graphics and enhanced gameplay mechanics, Sons of the Forest is expected to be a huge hit among both fans of The Forest and newcomers to the series. The early access release will allow players to experience the game before its full release, providing an opportunity for the developers to gather feedback and make improvements based on player input.
