One More Level is leaving Ghostrunner behind for now and focusing on its new IP, Valor Mortis. The studio calls it a first-person Soulslike, and it’s already turning heads. You can check out its reveal trailer below.

From October 6–13, players can jump into the public playtest on Steam. Sign-ups are open through the official playtest site.
The setup is grim and brutal. You’re a 19th-century soldier pulled back from the dead, wielding new powers against infected Napoleonic comrades. It’s a sharp twist on the Soulslike formula, familiar punishing combat, but in a high-octane FPS view.
The pre-alpha test is packed with content. Expect the full intro chapter, one boss fight, a mini-boss, ten levels of progression, and the first branch of the upgrade tree.
One More Level and Lyrical Games are also tying the event to community contests. Think speedruns, fan art, and screenshot competitions, all with launch prize packs on the line. Details are live on Discord.
Valor Mortis is targeting a 2026 release, but this playtest is the first big step. Fans get a taste. The devs get the feedback. Everyone wins.
