First released in Early Access for PC back in 2021, Valheim stormed into the spotlight with its mix of exploration, crafting, and combat. It later expanded to Xbox in 2023, and since then, it’s continued to grow. Now, PS5 players will get their turn to carve out their legacy in the tenth realm.

Henrik Tornqvist, co-founder of Iron Gate Studio, said the team is “thrilled” to expand the community. He noted that sharing Viking adventures with new players is one of the most exciting parts of the move.
For anyone who hasn’t tried it, Valheim is a co-op survival game for up to 10 players, set in a procedurally generated purgatory inspired by Norse mythology. It’s one of the most celebrated indies in recent years, sitting on over 477,000 positive Steam reviews and 12 million copies sold.
The game has grown with major updates like Hearth & Home, Mistlands, Ashlands, and the recent Call to Arms combat overhaul. PS5 players can expect to dive into that same evolving world when it lands in 2026.
