If you love a good zombie survival story with emotional depth, then Undying might be the one you are looking for. Skystone Games and Vanimals have announced that the game will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch on February 11, 2025, for $19.99 / £16.74 / €19.99 / 2,350 yen worldwide.

For those unfamiliar, Undying originally dropped into Early Access for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store back in October 2021, with a full release following on December 7, 2023. Switch players in Japan got their version a bit earlier, launching on July 25, 2024.

A zombie story with heart—and hard choices

At its core, Undying isn’t just another survival game; it’s a deeply emotional journey. You play as Anling, a mother who’s been bitten and now faces a race against time to ensure her son, Cody, learns how to survive before she turns. Every decision you make, from scavenging for supplies to helping (or ignoring) other survivors, affects the unfolding story. Will you teach Cody enough before it’s too late? And who, if anyone, can you trust in this bleak world?

Craft, explore, and survive—if you can

A zombie apocalypse is tough enough, but Undying throws in a dynamic crafting system where every resource counts. Upgrading gear, finding food, and preparing for the next encounter are essential. Plus, with procedural map layouts, no two playthroughs are the same. The world is packed with dangerous dungeons, unexpected encounters, and moral dilemmas that shape your journey. And yes, Diablo creator David Brevik had a hand in designing some of the game’s dungeon systems, ensuring that looting feels just as rewarding as surviving.
