Mega Crit’s Slay the Spire 2 has had one of the most impressive Early Access launches in recent memory, and the sales figures are here to back that up.

According to new data from Alinea Analytics, shared by analyst Rhys Elliott on Twitter, the game sold an estimated 5.3 million copies in March 2025 alone. That’s particularly remarkable given it only launched on Steam on 5th March, meaning it achieved those numbers in under four weeks. To date, the title has generated $108 million on Steam.

Slay the Spire 2 comfortably led March’s Steam sales rankings. Pearl Abyss‘ long-awaited open-world action RPG Crimson Desert took second place with nearly 2 million copies sold, while Climber Animals Together came in third with around 1 million. Resident Evil Requiem rounded out the top five with 1.2 million PC copies sold, alongside The Resident Evil 3 remake, moving close to a million units.

A rocky road for Slay the Spire 2, but still standing

The launch wasn’t entirely smooth. An early beta patch sparked a wave of negative reviews from the community, though Mega Crit moved quickly to reverse those changes and stabilise player sentiment.

Still, 5.3 million copies in a single month for an Early Access title is extraordinary and suggests Slay the Spire 2 has a very bright future ahead.
