The long-awaited PvPvE mech shooter SAND finally has an Early Access release date—April 3, 2025. tinyBuild Games and Hologryph made the announcement at IGN Fan Fest, confirming that players will soon get their hands on this intense extraction shooter.

Fans first got a taste of SAND during Steam Next Fest last year, where its demo ranked among the top ten most played. More recently, an open playtest brought in over 200,000 participants, showing just how much excitement there is around this game.

About SAND

Set in an alternate 1910 with an industrial twist, SAND throws you into fast-paced first-person PvPvE combat. You can go solo or team up with friends to battle across the dunes of Sophie, a once-thriving region now reduced to a barren wasteland.

At the heart of the experience are the Tramplers—massive walking bases that serve as both transport and shelter. You can customise your Trampler’s size, layout, engine placement, and weapon loadout, making it a key part of both survival and combat.

Early Access and the road ahead

According to the developers, SAND will remain in Early Access for about a year, with regular updates based on community feedback. The team has been working on the game since 2023, shaping it with multiple playtests and player input.

The full version is set to expand significantly, with planned additions including:

  • New weapons and Trampler compartments
  • More islands and points of interest
  • PvE and crafting mechanics
  • World hazards and environmental challenges
  • Visual improvements and optimisation
