Resident Evil Requiem is getting closer, and Capcom has revealed one more surprise ahead of launch. This time, it is not gameplay. It is a live-action trailer that leans hard into horror, emotion, and loss.

Resident Evil Requiem – Live Action Trailer

The new trailer stars Maika Monroe, best known for Longlegs. Instead of action-heavy moments, it focuses on a small, personal story set during the Raccoon City outbreak. A mother and daughter spend quiet time together before everything collapses. Sirens scream. Zombies flood the streets. Explosions tear through the city. Survival becomes the only goal.

What stands out here is the tone. The trailer is slow and heavy. It wants you to feel the fear, but also the sadness. The relationship at the centre gives the chaos real weight, and the ending hits hard without spelling everything out.

Capcom revealed the trailer through a clever promotion. Fans spotted a red poster reading “Evil Has Always Had a Name” with a QR code. Scanning it led straight to the live-action video.

Monroe described the trailer as heartbreaking, praising its emotional focus. Director The Lo highlighted the return to 1990s Raccoon City, calling it nostalgic and exciting, especially for longtime fans.

Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The horror is going back to its roots.
