Resident Evil Requiem is pushing the RE Engine further than ever. NVIDIA has confirmed that the game will launch on PC with full ray tracing and path tracing support. This makes it the first Resident Evil title to feature full path tracing. DLSS 4 will also be available from day one.

This next entry is a single-player survival horror. You play as Grace Ashcroft, fighting to stay alive in a dark story set 30 years after the Raccoon City missile strike. The devs describe the concept as “addictive fear,” with Grace learning to overcome her terror throughout the game. You will return to Raccoon City, with the story once again tied to Umbrella.

Visuals will see a big upgrade. Earlier Resident Evil games suffered from noisy reflections, but path tracing fixes that. Expect more natural lighting, stronger global illumination, and an overall cleaner image. NVIDIA also compared it to Monster Hunter Wilds, saying the dark, muddy shadows that bothered players won’t be a problem here.
Other RE Engine games like Pragmata will support ray tracing and DLSS 4, but no path tracing. Right now, Resident Evil Requiem is the only one confirmed.
Capcom will release Resident Evil Requiem on 27 February 2026. PC system requirements are not yet available.
