A new Friday the 13th game is officially in development. The news came during a San Diego Comic-Con panel over the weekend. Horror Inc. VP Robbie Barsamian confirmed the project is underway.

He said;

“A new sequel movie and new sequel game are at the top of our list… both are in the works and they’re both coming.”

This follows years of legal issues that halted the franchise. Friday the 13th: The Game shut down last year. The servers went offline, leaving the game unplayable.

Last year, New Friday rights issue was resolved. That’s when the Jason Universe was announced, a multimedia push for new films, games, and more.

There’s no footage, no studio name, and no release window yet. Barsamian said, “We’re not officially announcing with our partners today.”

That means it could be a while before anything concrete is revealed. Still, Jason’s return to games is finally happening.

In other horror news, Hellraiser: Revival was also revealed. It’s a first-person survival horror game. The story is brand-new and set in the Hellraiser universe.

It’s coming to Xbox, PS5, and PC. No release window has been given yet.

Two horror icons are back in play. Let’s hope they deliver.
