If you were hoping to drop into post-apocalyptic South Korea this year, you might want to get comfortable.

Nexon has confirmed in a recent capital markets briefing that NAKWON: Last Paradise is targeting a 2027 release window, quietly pushing the extraction title beyond what many had expected to be a 2026 launch. Prior to the briefing, all official documentation had simply listed the game as “coming soon.”

A playtest that left players wanting more

The delay feels all the more noticeable given how the game performed during its recent Steam demo. Over 37,000 concurrent players jumped in, and the reception was broadly positive. Many came away feeling the game was already polished enough to launch. That makes the extended wait a little harder to swallow.

Nexon’s wider 2027 slate is stacked, including three Dungeon & Fighter titles, Vindictus: Defying Fate, and Project Overkill. For NAKWON specifically, the team has reportedly been in contact with Embark Studios, the developer behind last year’s breakout hit ARC Raiders, to help sharpen its global appeal.

It’s a smart move. Extraction games live and die on community, and Embark knows that world well.

NAKWON has genuine potential. The bones are there. Hoping that the extra time gives it the edge it needs.
