Indie developer Gloomsoft has confirmed that Moadra, its upcoming Aliens-inspired Metroidvania, will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch alongside the PC (Steam) version in 2025. This marks the first console debut for the project, giving fans across platforms a chance to explore the mysterious world of Protea VI.

Moadra console announcement trailer

In Moadra, you play as Lieutenant Moadra Meras, a high-ranking Neera elite sent to uncover the fate of a lost civilisation. The planet is full of deadly terrain, deserts, frozen mountains, alien-infested labs, and everything hides secrets waiting to be uncovered. Using your scanner bot and X-ray vision, you can spot hidden paths, reveal lost areas, and understand the creatures around you.

Gameplay mixes fast-paced movement, like wall-jumping, sprinting, and dodging, with action-packed combat. A unique feature is the Protoplasm system: defeating enemies lets you absorb their bio-energy and mutate your weapons or abilities inside living upgrade chambers. It’s all about adapting and surviving in a world that constantly evolves.
