Nintendo fans have gone into full detective mode after discovering two unlisted Metroid Prime 4: Beyond ads on YouTube. Each runs for fifteen seconds, but that’s all it took to set the internet buzzing, especially after revealing a brand-new boss called Carvex.

A closer look at the leaked footage of Metroid Prime 4

Both clips were quickly shared across forums and social media, first spotted on Famiboards by user “BackwardsCompat.” The first ad shows a short boss fight against Carvex while the player uses a standard controller on a docked Switch 2. The second ad shows the same scene but with the player using the Joy-Con’s new “mouse input” mode for more precise aiming, a feature that caught a lot of attention.

Fans are split on what they’ve seen so far. Some say the graphics look a bit dated, while others think it perfectly captures that classic Metroid Prime energy. Either way, it’s stirred up plenty of excitement.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond launches on 4 December, but this small leak has already given fans something to chew on, and it’s safe to say, the hype’s only getting stronger.
