Nintendo has finally locked in a release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The long-awaited sequel lands on 4 December 2025 for both Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.
Fans have been waiting since 2017, when the game was first announced. It’s been even longer for those craving a true follow-up to Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, which released back in 2007. Now the wait is nearly over.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Switch launch trailer
Nintendo Direct gave us another look at the game. The new trailer showed off more action, with one major surprise – Samus riding a motorcycle in what appears to be an open-world environment. It’s a twist that nobody saw coming, and it raises questions about how exploration will play out this time around.
To build the hype, Nintendo is also planning a retrospective on the first three Metroid Prime games. Alongside that, three new Amiibo figures are on the way, including one of Samus on her bike from the trailer.
After years of silence and setbacks, the countdown has finally begun. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is real, it’s coming, and December can’t arrive fast enough.
