Mafia: The Old Country is set to launch on August 8, 2025, and 2K together with Hangar 13 have revealed a gripping gameplay trailer along with a behind-the-scenes developer video titled Breaking Omerta. Coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC via Steam and NVIDIA GeForce NOW, the game is available for pre-order now, with fans invited to tune into a special PAX East panel today at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

The new footage gives a thrilling look into early 1900s Sicily, where players step into the shoes of Enzo Favara, a man rising through the ranks of Don Torrisi’s powerful crime family. Hangar 13 describes the game as a “focused, linear experience,” combining strong storytelling, emotional stakes, and refined gameplay. According to Nick Baynes, the studio’s president, this focus allowed them to create something “gritty, grounded, brutal and emotional.”
In the trailer, we see dynamic melee and gun combat, horseback riding, and era-appropriate vehicles—all set in a visually rich, period-authentic world powered by Unreal Engine 5, a first for the series. The atmosphere is raw and immersive, capturing the tension and drama of mafia life with stunning detail.
The accompanying Breaking Omerta video gives fans a closer look at the design process. Hangar 13 focused on authenticity, aiming to capture the look and feel of turn-of-the-century Sicily while delivering a story full of unexpected twists and emotional depth. The game will appeal to players who love narrative-driven experiences that don’t demand massive time commitments, as 2K President David Ismailer pointed out.
