Lexar has launched the second generation of Lexar THOR RGB DDR5 desktop memory, a direct upgrade from the first series released in 2023. The company first showed these new memory sticks at Gamescom 2025, and they are now listed on its official site.

The Lexar THOR RGB 2nd Gen modules feature a slim and simple design, complete with an updated aluminium heatsink that boasts a sandblasted finish for a premium look. Lexar has also enhanced the lighting system by incorporating eight LED bulbs that support thirteen distinct lighting modes. This means the RGB effects are brighter and more customisable compared to the older version.

For performance, the memory is available in speeds of DDR5-6000 and DDR5-6400. Buyers can choose between three kit sizes: 32 GB (2×16 GB), 64 GB (2×32 GB), and 128 GB (2×64 GB). These modules are compatible with Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO, making overclocking much easier. The smaller kits come with tighter timings, while the bigger kits use looser timings to keep things stable. For example, the 32 GB DDR5-6000 kit runs at CL38-48-48-96 with 1.35 V, while the larger kits adjust timings for smooth performance.

Lexar THOR RGB DDR5 warranty and availability

Lexar is offering a lifetime limited warranty for these memory sticks, though in some regions like Germany, it is set to ten years due to local rules. The new memory will be sold under two names: THOR RGB 2nd Gen for Europe and THOR Z RGB for Amazon sales. Prices and release dates have not been confirmed yet.

With its faster speeds, stylish design, and brighter RGB, the Lexar THOR RGB 2nd Gen looks like a solid upgrade for gamers and PC builders.
