IO Interactive has confirmed what leaked earlier today. Grammy winner Lenny Kravitz is playing Bawma, the main villain in 007 First Light. The reveal came with a new trailer shown at The Game Awards 2025.
Kravitz has acted before, but this is his first role in a video game. It also marks his first time playing a villain. And not just any villain, but a full Bond-level threat with style, confidence, and a pair of pet alligators he uses to intimidate enemies.
007 First Light – Lenny Kravitz announcement trailer
The trailer introduces Aleph, a secret black market city in Africa. It’s a rough, dangerous place built and controlled by Bawma. We don’t know if Aleph is where the entire story ends, but it looks like a key stop in James Bond’s mission.
The focus on a musician-turned-actor stepping into a Bond role brings a fresh angle to the series. Kravitz looks fully committed to the part, giving Bawma a cool but unpredictable energy.

007 First Light is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox on 27 March 2026.
