Matchday 5 of the eFootball.Pro 2019/20 season, played on eFootball PES 2020, took place in Barcelona this weekend, with Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. today sharing the results of the five fixtures held on Saturday 22nd February.

  • AS Monaco                 3-0 / 2-4           FCBarcelona
  • Celtic FC                     3-0 / 2-3           Boavista FC
  • Juventus                     0-2 / 1-1           FC Bayern München
  • FC Nantes                  3-3 / 1-1           Manchester United FC
  • FC Schalke 04            0-0 / 0-1           Arsenal FC

The eFootball.Pro league table is full of excitement after Matchday 5, with AS Monaco and FC Bayern München now separated by a single point on top. Most of this weekend’s matches saw a lot of goals, but none could topple ASM Kilzyou, who is still racking up the goals and stays the season’s top scorer.

The first fixture of the day saw two individual eFootball PES world champions go head to head as AS Monaco took on FC Barcelona. After dominating the first game (3-0), AS Monaco conceded four goals in the next, granting a victory for Barcelona. This was the first defeat for the Monegasque team in the season so far.

The second fixture was a clash between Celtic FC and Boavista FC and featured an abundance of goals from either side. The Hoops needed points after a weak season start, and the Portuguese team wanted to keep climbing up the league table. Celtic secured a clear victory in the first game (3-0), but Boavista clawed it back to win the second (2-3). At the end of Matchday 5, Barboza took the lead in the defence points ranking, surpassing Aazbabysk from FC Nantes.

The match between Juventus and FC Bayern München was arguably the most anticipated of the day. The first-ever eFootball PES CO-OP champions Alex Alguacil, ETTORITO97 and Ildistruttore are now in different teams, forcing a healthy rivalry. The two teams were also tied, as well as Monaco’s main competition. The first game ended with a 0-2 victory for the German team, and the second one, in a draw (1-1). With this result FC Bayern is only one point behind leaders AS Monaco.

The fourth fixture pitted FC Nantes against Manchester United FC. The first game was one of the most exciting of the day despite ending in a draw. The English team started with an early lead but at the end the French team came back to even the score at 3-3. The second game ended 1-1 after another goal in the last few minutes, this time by Manchester United’s E_c_oneill.

The final fixture of the day, between FC Schalke 04 and Arsenal FC, had the least goals. Both teams were tied on the bottom of the table before the match and were in the need of six points to hope to qualify for the Knockout Stage. The first game ended in a 0-0 draw, with the second being narrowly won by Arsenal (0-1) after an early goal from S-Venom.

The MVP of Matchday 4 and the best goal of the 8th February games were awarded at the beginning of the day. Alex Grd from Arsenal FC won the prize for the best goal, and FC Barcelona’s HenrykinhO was the best player. The awards of Matchday 5 will be given on 7th March. In order to decide the MVP, KONAMI chooses one player out of the five with the most CO-OP points determined by the video game. Both MVP and Best Goal are individual prizes that award 10,000€ each to the winner.
