Tears of the Kingdom is finally here, and you’ve obviously managed to tear yourself away from it for long enough to type “How to beat the Jiosin Shrine in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” into Google and find yourself on this website. This shrine is likely to be the first one you encounter after completing the game’s series of tutorial challenges.
This means it’s the first shrine that doesn’t really have anything to teach you – it’s just a fun, a bite-sized puzzle that will require you to make good use of the Ultrahand ability to complete it.
Where can I find the Jiosin Shrine?
The Jiosin Shrine can be found to the south of the Central Hyrule region, directly below the Hyrule Field Chasm and Lookout Landing. You land quite close to it upon your first return to Hyrule, so it’s likely that it was intended to serve as an easy fast travel spot.
How do I beat the Jiosin Shrine?
The Jiosin Shrine may look a little bit fiddly at first but once you’ve got the hang of rotating objects with Ultrahand you’ll be done in no time. At first you’ll be in a large chamber with an impassable gap and a wall with a convenient ‘X’ shaped slot in it.
Run into the room pictured above and you’ll be met with a large object that you can use Ultrahand to manipulate through the gap. You shouldn’t need to rotate it: just pick it up and lift it through the X.
Once the object is through the slot, run back into the main chamber and use it to bridge the gap.
Run and jump across the bridge you just made into the Jiosin Shrine’s next chamber. You’re now faced with two side chambers and an inaccessible treasure chest straight in front of you.
You’ll want to head to the right first. There’s another object lying on the floor. Pick it up and rotate it until you can slide it through the gap. This bit is fairly straightforward.
Back in the main chamber, you can now use the block as a step up to the previously unreachable treasure chest. You can slot it in the convenient gap in the ground for easy access, or just use the Ascend power to hop straight up to the top.
Once you’ve claimed the Jiosin Shrine’s bonus treasure, pick the block back up and rotate it until it forms the twin diamond shape that matches the slot on the left-hand side. This can be a little bit tricky because the Ultrahand rotation mechanic doesn’t always seem to do what you want it to do.
Once you’ve passed it through, you’ve basically beaten the Jiosin Shrine. Just use it to complete the stairway to the exit like so.
Run up the stairs and that’s it – one more Shrine down. Congratulations!
