It’s finally real, Halo: Combat Evolved is getting a full remake, rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. Revealed during the Halo WCC showcase, Campaign Evolved is being developed by Halo Studios, who call it a “faithful yet modernised” version of the campaign that started it all. It’s due out in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC.

Yep, you read that right, It is coming to PlayStation for the first time ever. It still feels surreal, but after Halo Studios (formerly 343 Industries) moved on from the Slipspace Engine to Unreal, this crossover moment was bound to happen eventually.
The remake completely rebuilds every environment, model, and texture from scratch while keeping the story untouched. On top of that, there are three brand-new prequel missions that set the stage for the events of the main campaign. Players can team up for four-player online co-op or kick back with two-player split-screen, something Halo Infinite never quite delivered.

One thing to note this remake is all about the campaign. There’s no multiplayer included, so if you’re craving classic Halo CE PvP, the Master Chief Collection is still your go-to.
Campaign Evolved lands in 2026, and it’s already up for wishlisting on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
