A new rumour suggests that Grand Theft Auto VI and its online mode, GTA Online, might be sold separately when the game launches. This would be the first time Rockstar Games has done this at release.
Separate pricing for GTA VI and GTA Online
The rumor comes from Rockstar leaker Tez2, who shared the details on the GTA Forums. According to him, players might be able to buy just GTA Online at a lower price, with an option to upgrade later to the full game. This could help players who do not want to pay for the full package right away. Selling the game Online separately might also help Rockstar keep the price of the full game lower. Many people expect GTA VI to cost around 80 dollars, which could set a new standard for game prices. However, if Online is sold at a lower price, the full game might not be as expensive as expected.

GTA VI to run at 30 FPS on consoles
Another report gives details on how the game will perform on consoles. Former Rockstar Games animator Mike York shared that Rockstar will aim for a steady 30 frames per second (FPS) on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. He said Rockstar will optimise the game as much as possible to keep it running smoothly at this frame rate.
For players hoping for 60 FPS, there might be some good news. The PlayStation 5 Pro, using its special upscaling technology, could allow the game to reach 60 FPS. However, standard PS5 and Xbox Series X players should expect the game to stay at 30 FPS at launch. York also mentioned that Rockstar focuses on making sure the game runs well first, before working on performance upgrades. This means that while the game will target 30 FPS at launch, it might receive improvements later.

No release date yet
Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch later this year for PlayStation 5 and Xbox. However, Rockstar has not announced an exact release date yet. Fans are eagerly waiting for more details, and Rockstar is expected to share more news in the coming months. Would you buy GTA Online separately if this rumour is true? Let us know your thoughts!
