GrimKeep is here to rewrite your bedtime stories—with a curse, dice, and a lot of grimdark energy. Resolution Games, the studio behind Demeo, announced that this upcoming roguelite dice-builder is set to launch in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. And yes, more platforms are on the way—those will be revealed closer to release.
Set in a nightmare-fueled version of classic fairytales, GrimKeep drops you into a cursed city where monsters prowl and the skies never brighten. At the centre of it all? A castle. A corrupted princess. And a mystery waiting to be shattered by dice and determination.
This isn’t your usual roguelike
If you’re imagining a card deck, think again. GrimKeep leans into dice-building, where your roll matters as much as your strategy. Each run throws you into procedurally generated battles, where collecting relics and crafting synergy-packed combos is the key to survival. No two runs will be the same, and every failure unlocks something new: characters, items, or encounters.
You’ll pick from multiple characters, each with their abilities, then head into the city to face off against twisted creatures. Along the way, you’ll gather gear, roll your upgraded dice, and—hopefully—build a game-breaking synergy or two that tips the odds in your favour. Whether you survive or fall, you’re always moving forward.

Here’s what’s confirmed so far:
- Multiple playable heroes, each with unique playstyles
- Roguelite progression—fail forward, unlock more
- Synergy-based gameplay with dice rolls and item combos
- New encounters every run for constant variety
- A world that’s visually rich, hand-drawn, and fully committed to its dark fantasy setting

No sunshine, no happy endings
“This world is harsh and unforgiving,” said Henrik Pettersson, art director at Resolution Games. “I wanted it to feel like a ‘real’ fantasy world with its logic and lore—even though you’re rolling the dice, it’s still grounded in this tragic, visually cohesive universe.” And honestly? It shows. The art already feels like it could live inside a graphic novel or tabletop campaign.
Tommy Palm, the studio’s CEO, added that even without VR headsets, GrimKeep held its own.
“When I got the prototype, I couldn’t put it down. It was just fun. Good games should be shared—whether they’re reinventing something or just taking a cool idea and making it better.”

Built by a small and passionate team, GrimKeep is very much a community-driven project. The devs are encouraging fans to follow along as they tweak and shape the experience ahead of launch.
So, if dice-building, cursed princesses, and moody fairytales sound like your thing, keep GrimKeep on your radar.
