The Game Awards 2025 went exactly how many expected it to: a night ruled by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The RPG juggernaut came in with a staggering 12 nominations, 10 if you only count one of its three Best Performance nods, and left the stage taking home almost all of them.

From Best Art Direction to Best Score and Music, Best Narrative, Best Game Direction, and ultimately Game of the Year, Clair Obscur proved why it was the heavyweight favourite. Out of 11 possible wins, it claimed nine, only losing Best Audio Design to Battlefield 6 and the Player’s Voice Award to Wuthering Waves.

Its domination extended to performances as well, with Jennifer English taking home Best Performance, alongside wins for Ben Starr and Charlie Cox, cementing the game’s status as a critical and fan favourite alike.

South of Midnight and ARC Raiders also picked up awards in their respective categories, with No Man’s Sky taking Best Ongoing Game and Baldur’s Gate 3 scoring Best Community Support.
