2K and Gearbox Software have shared new gameplay and a character short for Borderlands 4. The focus this time is on Vex, one of the new Vault Hunters.
The Vex Gameplay Overview shows her in full power. She uses destructive Phase energy to blast enemies. Her attacks include elemental orbs and aggressive Phase Clones.
She also summons her deadly pet, Trouble. It’s a small feline with sharp claws and Phase energy. It’s cute, but it shreds enemies fast.

In Borderlands 4, her Clones don’t just distract, they copy her moves. That means more damage and chaos from all sides. Vex keeps enemies guessing. Trouble jumps in to finish the job with brutal attacks.
The short video Purple Friday shares her origin. It’s her side of a violent event that changed her life. That’s when she unlocked her powers. The short mixes action, emotion, and her sharp attitude.
Borderlands 4 launches on 12 September. It’s coming to PS5, Xbox, and PC through Steam and Epic. The Switch 2 version arrives later in 2025.
Vex looks powerful, stylish, and deadly. And with Trouble by her side, she’s not coming to play nice.
