After almost four years in Early Access, Barotrauma, the popular sci-fi submarine simulator, is finally ready for full launch. Developed by FakeFish and Undertow Games, and published by Daedalic Entertainment, Barotrauma is available on Steam from 5 PM GMT/6 PM CET.
To celebrate the launch, a new video has been released that immerses players in the depths of Europa, where they will navigate the frozen moon and complete various missions in both single-player and co-op modes. The game supports up to 16 players and has a loyal and active community of more than 30,000 members on Discord, who have provided invaluable feedback to the developers.
Since its Early Access launch in 2019, the game has undergone major improvements, including an overhaul of the campaign and tutorials, the addition of new monsters, missions, and outposts, and improved graphics and environments. The developers have also implemented a scripted event system and added a player-made submarine to the base game as part of a community competition, showing their devotion to their players and fanbase.
Barotrauma’s procedurally generated levels, ridiculous ragdoll physics, and full mod support make for thrilling and often hilarious gameplay. However, players must also beware of the traitor mode option in multiplayer, which randomly assigns secret conspirators with individual missions like assassination and sabotage.
More information about Barotrauma can be found on the Steam store page. Get ready to embark on your biggest mission yet and dive into the depths of Europa!
