Publisher Dotemu and developers Guard Crush Games and Supamonks have confirmed that Absolum, their new arcade-style beat ’em up, will launch on October 9 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam.
The release date trailer highlights Brome, a humanoid frog known as a Mowlaï. He wields both staff-based melee combos and ranged magic, while also gliding on a hoverboard. His story is fuelled by tragedy after watching his people enslaved, leaving him torn between peace and vengeance.

A fight against tyranny
The game’s story takes place in Talamh, a world shattered by a magical disaster. The tyrannical Sun King Azra seizes power through war, crushing any wizard who resists him. Standing in his way is a band of rebels, guided by the mythical Uchawi and the Root Sisters. Together, they wield forbidden magic in a desperate resistance against Azra’s domination.
With animation by Supamonks, Absolum blends hand-crafted fantasy with arcade combat, giving players a mix of spells, counters, and unique heroes to master.
