Housemarque’s Saros looked set to be the next evolution of the addictive formula seen in Returnal. Today, a new trailer at The Game Awards offered a closer look, showing more story sequences and Arjun’s Soltari in action. His advanced combat suit goes up against waves of enemies in true bullet hell style.
Sadly, there’s a delay. Saros now launches on April 30, about a month later than the original March 20 release date.

The trailer also highlighted the game’s expanded narrative. Players will experience grounded voice-over, stunning cinematics, haunting audio logs, and conversations with an ensemble cast of NPCs, explained Gregory Louden, Housemarque’s creative director. These additions aim to push the story further than what might have been possible for an independent studio.
Saros will release exclusively on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. A PC version hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it’s likely to appear later, following the path of Returnal on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
