Lost Skies finally has a full release date. The open-world survival adventure leaves Early Access and officially launches for PC via Steam on September 17, publisher Humble Games and developer Bossa Games confirmed.

The game first hit Early Access back in April, letting players test its sky-high survival mechanics. Now, it’s ready to go 1.0 with years of community feedback shaping the final version. You can check out its launch trailer below.

In Lost Skies, you and up to five friends explore floating islands, uncover ancient technology, and fight massive creatures known as Seraph. The hook here is freedom – you can build your own upgradeable skyship, customise every part, and then take it into battle.

Fans of Worlds Adrift may recognise the DNA here. That ambitious MMO never made it to full release, but Bossa Games never gave up on the idea. Lead designer Luke Williams says the team wanted to elevate what players loved most – exploration, ship-building, and giant sky bosses.

Over Early Access, Lost Skies has grown massively. Players got access to the Island Creator, new weapons, naval battles, puzzles, regions, and endless ship parts. Quality-of-life fixes, inventory tweaks, and smoother controls round out the improvements.

From the studio behind Surgeon Simulator and I Am Fish, Lost Skies now feels ready for takeoff.
