Chrono Odyssey didn’t leave the best first impression during its Closed Beta on Steam, but that feedback sparked major changes. Chrono Studio is now reworking nearly every system in the MMORPG, from core combat to world design.
Combat is getting faster and more responsive
Combat is being fine-tuned with improved client-server communication and network performance. Attacks will now trigger clearer reactions like knockbacks and staggers, while camera shakes and sound effects are being added to make hits feel more impactful. Crowd control durations are being extended to 2–4 seconds, giving players more time to follow up. Weapon swings will also feel quicker with a reduced buffer window.
Skills and classes are being redesigned
Each weapon will support four combat styles, and a new Matrix skill tree system will let players customise their builds further. Skills will now synergise across different weapons, meaning all classes will be rebalanced from the ground up.

AI and difficulty spikes are being fixed
Monster behaviour is being updated to better react to ranged attacks, and difficulty spikes from the beta are being adjusted to make progression smoother.

World design and exploration are improving
Chrono Odyssey world is being visually enhanced with unique region features like swamps, wildflower fields, and dynamic grass that reacts to movement. The wind system is also being upgraded to create more immersive environments.
Exploration will be more rewarding with new caves, narrative encounters, and resource points at key locations. Dynamic and chain quests will offer hidden rewards like achievements and exclusive titles.

Quests and dungeons are getting variety and replay value
Side quests will include player choices that affect outcomes, and each region will feature its own characters and stories. Expedition Dungeons will be randomised with different bosses and events each run, and repeated completions will give extra rewards.
Interface, crafting, and social systems are also being reworked
Chrono Odyssey’s UI, tutorials, and crafting mechanics are being improved, alongside updates to social features. These adjustments aim to make the experience smoother from the start.

Chrono Odyssey is still targeting a 2025 release, but with so many systems being overhauled and more beta testing likely, a delay seems inevitable. Still, it’s a better path than rushing out another unfinished MMO.
