If you miss the tension of old-school survival horror, Ghost Sector might be one to watch. Publisher GIGATANK 3000 and developer Polygon Crypt have just announced their upcoming game, a cyberpunk horror experience inspired by classics like Resident Evil and BioForge. It’s coming to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in early 2026.
Ghost Sector trailer
A machine with no past, trapped in a dead facility
You play as M-07, a prototype machine that wakes up in lockdown inside a high-tech research complex on planet RX-712. Once a maximum-security prison, the facility was repurposed by the M-Tech Corporation for cutting-edge robotic research—until something went terribly wrong. The station is now a silent graveyard of experiments gone too far, with automated defenses still active and no clear way out.
Your goal? Survive long enough to figure out what happened, recover lost memories, and uncover the truth about M-Tech’s unethical research. The deeper you go, the more the station’s secrets—and your own—start to surface.

A proper throwback to classic survival horror
If you grew up on tank controls and fixed-camera angles, Ghost Sector is aiming to scratch that itch. The game brings back the tension of old-school survival horror, where movement is deliberately clunky, combat is risky, and every upgrade comes at a cost.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Fixed-camera angles and tank-style movement—a deliberate nod to the classics.
- Resource management—you start with barely any power and need to scavenge upgrades carefully.
- Puzzles and strategic encounters—every action drains energy, so survival is a constant balancing act.

Retro visuals with a modern twist
Aesthetically, Ghost Sector leans heavily into late ‘90s horror vibes, taking inspiration from the eerie sci-fi aesthetic of Alien Breed: Tower Assault and the unsettling atmosphere of Galerians. The game’s default visuals embrace pixelated nostalgia, but there’s also an option to modernise the presentation slightly.
With its mix of survival horror tension, environmental storytelling, and cyberpunk mystery, Ghost Sector looks like a promising love letter to the genre’s golden age. It’s still a long way from release, but this is definitely one to keep an eye on.
