What do reality shows like Big Brother, major football tournaments such as Euro 2020 and any US Presidential election have in common? The answer is that no matter how much you might profess complete indifference, any one of them has the power to draw you in if you give it the slightest chance.

We’ll leave the reality TV and the politics for another day. Right now, everyone is going football crazy. Euro 2020 was delayed by 12 months for obvious reasons, but all that did was ramp up the anticipation. It’s here at last, and even though the sun is shining and there’s a big wide world out there, most of us want to keep abreast of what’s going on – if only so that we understand what our families and friends are talking about. There’s no need to take up permanent residence on the sofa with the curtains drawn, however. These apps will ensure you are kept appraised of all the action.

UEFA’s Euro App

If you’re only going to instal one app for Euro 2020, make it this one. The official UEFA Euro app keeps you posted on every goal, red card and breaking news story. There are also competitions to enter, and if you’re lucky enough to be attending any of the matches in person, there’s all the information you need about venues, meeting points and so on.

BBC iPlayer and ITV hub

This year, the broadcasting rights for Euro 2020 are being shared by the UK’s two main free to air networks. That’s great news for keeping up with the action on the go, as you can download both mobile apps for free – just keep in mind that you need to have a TV licence at home in order to watch the BBC iPlayer.

Unibet’s sports betting app

Placing a wager is all part of the fun, and these days, most of us do so using a mobile app. There are plenty out there to choose from, but Unibet gets the nod here due to its trusted name and user-friendly interface. There’s all the information you need about how the Euro 2020 groups are shaping up as we head towards the knockout stages and plenty of nice extras such as expert tips and video streams.

LiveScore

If you’re simply after the quick and dirty lowdown on the latest scores at Euro 2020, LiveScore is hard to beat. It updates faster than anything else and if you enable notifications, you’ll know when someone’s hit the back of the net almost as rapidly as they do! The app covers numerous other tournaments and sports too – you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it!

FIFA Mobile

There are plenty of armchair critics who are sure they could do better than Gareth Southgate. If you’re among them, why not prove it? FIFA Mobile is the game that even the pros play. Start your campaign and take your team to glory in cyberspace, with either today’s top performers or perhaps some legends from the past.
