007 First Light State of Play brings 30 minutes of gameplay this week

Sony and IO Interactive are giving us our best look yet at 007 First Light. A new PlayStation State of Play is locked in for September 3, and it’s all about Bond. You can check out its announcement trailer below.

The stream kicks off at 11:00 a.m. PT / 2:00 p.m. ET. You can catch it live on YouTube, with subtitles, or on Twitch. The focus is a massive 30-minute gameplay showcase. Expect a full playthrough of James Bond’s very first mission as an MI6 recruit. After that, the team at IO Interactive will share some behind-the-scenes insight into the project.

This isn’t just another quick teaser. Half an hour of uninterrupted gameplay is a major drop. It should finally give us a clear idea of how 007 First Light plays and feels.

The game itself is still a long way out. 007 First Light is scheduled to release in 2026. Platforms include PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, and even Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2.

With Bond stepping into the spotlight, this could be the defining moment for the series.
