Xbox has officially teamed up with AMD for a multi-year deal. The goal is simple: build the future of Xbox hardware, from home consoles to handhelds and accessories.

Sarah Bond, president of Xbox, announced the partnership in a short video. She said the two companies will co-engineer new silicon for a full range of Xbox devices. This includes the next console and other platforms like PC and cloud.

Her message was clear: they want players to enjoy games anywhere, at home or on the go.

“Together with AMD, we’re advancing the state of the art in gaming silicon… unlocking a deeper level of visual quality and immersive gameplay… enhanced with the power of AI.”

So, what does that mean? Better visuals. Smarter gameplay. Faster performance. And it’ll still support your current library through backward compatibility.

Sarah didn’t repeat her old claim about the next console being the “largest technical leap ever.” That doesn’t mean it won’t be powerful, but it might mean expectations should stay realistic.

Unlike Sony, which is releasing a PS5 Pro, Microsoft is skipping a mid-gen upgrade. Instead, they’re focused on launching full next-gen hardware. Leaks suggest the next console could arrive in a couple of years.

For now, this confirms what insiders have been hinting at: they are building more than just a new console. It’s building a full gaming platform that’s not locked to one device or store. With AMD on board, the next chapter of Xbox is already in motion.
