Saber Interactive has officially announced the release date for World War Z VR. The game is launching on August 12 for Meta Quest and Steam VR, bringing the excitement and chaos of the popular zombie series into full virtual reality for the first time.
This new version of World War Z is not just a simple VR port. It’s been fully rebuilt to match the unique experience of virtual reality. Players can expect a first-person gameplay style, redesigned controls, and intense action, all made for VR from the ground up. With more than 200 zombies on screen at once, the game promises a fast-paced and thrilling survival challenge.
Battle through real-world cities in full VR
The game includes three different city locations—New York, Tokyo, and Marseille—each filled with undead enemies. Players will move through wide environments with full freedom, exploring streets, buildings, and underground areas while trying to stay alive.
There are seven characters to choose from, and each mission is played alongside a team of AI-controlled squadmates. Players can customise their loadouts with different weapons and perks, and choose their preferred difficulty level to match their skill.

The enemies in World War Z VR react to the environment and player behaviour, making each battle feel fresh. The game also includes special infected types, making every mission unpredictable and exciting.
Pre-orders open now with bonus content
Players can now pre-order the game, with a special bundle that includes both the new World War Z VR and the original World War Z game. As a bonus, those who pre-order will receive the Golden Skin Pack, adding exclusive weapon skins to the game.

World War Z VR will be available from August 12 on Meta Quest and Steam VR. Whether you’re a long-time fan or a VR newcomer, this is your chance to dive into the zombie apocalypse like never before.
