Witchfire just got a big new update. The Astronauts have dropped Webgrave, adding a new region called Velmorne, a full tutorial, new gear, and more.

Velmorne is a fresh cursed area to explore. It’s also where new players now start. The tutorial happens here before you’re thrown into the main game. It’s a huge help, especially for first-timers and those coming back after a break.

The update also brings Gnosis VI. It’s a brutal new difficulty made for players who’ve already mastered the earlier tiers. Enemies hit harder, and the stakes are higher.

New systems and smoother progression in Witchfire

The way weapons and abilities work has been overhauled. Builds now matter more. You get to mix and match powers with better results. It’s easier to fine-tune how you play.

Onboarding has been improved, too. Menus are clearer. Tutorials explain more. Even the smaller quality-of-life tweaks add up.

In a press release, Adrian Chmielarz, co-founder of the studio, thanked players:

“To all of you who have participated in our Early Access so far: Thank you very much… Your feedback… has been vital!”

Witchfire has been in early access since 2023. A Steam release followed in 2024. With this update, the game feels closer than ever to a full launch.

If you dropped it before, now’s a great time to return.
