IO Interactive has finally given us the best look yet at 007 First Light – a full 30-minute gameplay showcase that pulls back the curtain on its upcoming Bond adventure.
The video is split into two parts. First, a 20-minute playthrough drops us right into James Bond’s earliest field mission, chasing down the rogue agent 009. No commentary here, just pure gameplay showing off the mix of stealth, action, and cinematic flair. After that comes a 10-minute developer deep dive, where the team walks us through gadgets, combat systems, and the freedom to either sneak past guards or go in guns blazing.

The game sets out to tell Bond’s origin story as a reckless MI6 recruit, and it’s clear IO Interactive wants this to feel like both a spy thriller and a sandbox of possibilities. Players will travel to stunning locations, drive iconic vehicles, and shape each mission with their own playstyle.
At the end of the showcase, the studio dropped the big news – 007 First Light launches on 27 March 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Hours before the reveal, the base game’s price and details of a far pricier collector’s edition leaked online, hinting that a release date was coming. The showcase confirmed it – and gave us their best look at Bond’s new beginning.
