Warlock is a new single-player, open-world action/adventure game set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons. It’s aiming for a 2027 release.

The game was revealed during a remote press presentation ahead of TGA 2025. It’s being published by Wizards of the Coast and developed by Invoke Studios, formerly Tuque Games.

Warlock is built using Unreal Engine 5. Development began back in October 2022. This time, the focus is on a single D&D class. You play exclusively as a Warlock.

Magic is central to the experience. It’s used in combat, movement, and world traversal. Spells won’t always have obvious uses. The developers are encouraging creative, lateral thinking.

The main character is predefined. Her name is Kaatri.

Kaatri is a former weapon master who made a dangerous Pact. Her reasons unfold throughout the story. Because of her past, she’s strong with melee weapons. The game blends close combat and magic tightly. Tricia Helfer voices Kaatri. She’s best known for Battlestar Galactica and Lucifer.

There are no tabletop mechanics like dice rolls. The goal is easy access, even for non-D&D players. Still, D&D lore shapes the world. Familiar characters will appear.

The game is single-player only. No co-op and no branching dialogue. Invoke says this keeps the story focused and driven.

Gameplay will be shown next summer. Until then, it’s a long wait.
