Fatshark has dropped a brand-new free update for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, bringing fresh content, major reworks, and some welcome technical upgrades. Dubbed Nightmares & Visions, the update introduces the Mortis Trials, a wave-based activity with randomised abilities and buffs, alongside improvements to the end-game Havoc mode, an overhauled Ogryn Talent Tree, and a time-limited event.

The standout addition is Mortis Trials, a new challenge mode where players take on relentless waves of enemies, spiced up with unpredictable buffs and abilities. Havoc mode has also been revamped, now featuring a rank overhaul, campaign additions, and new challenges to keep players engaged. Meanwhile, Ogryn mains will find a fully reworked Talent Tree, promising fresh ways to crush heretics in the Emperor’s name.

On the technical side, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Nightmares & Visions adds support for NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, optimised for GeForce RTX 50 Series cards. Players with RTX GPUs can also now choose between the traditional CNN model or the new Transformer model for DLSS Super Resolution.

The update isn’t just about the big-ticket items, Fatshark has rolled out numerous quality-of-life improvements, weapon and class tweaks, mission fixes, and general stability improvements, alongside a batch of cosmetic fixes.
To top it off, the update launches with a limited-time special event, A Day At The Theatre, encouraging players to jump into Mortis Trials for exclusive rewards. Nightmares & Visions is available now on all platforms, PC (Steam and Microsoft Store), Xbox, and PlayStation 5.
