The world’s number one mobile games publisher Voodoo has announced today the opening of new offices across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
This is the latest move in a period of recent growth, as the company expands into new markets across the globe. Voodoo’s current expansion reflects their continued unmatched success in the hyper-casual market and comes off the back of a successful start to the year for the business, which has seen the company increase its dominance as the world leader in games downloads on iOS and Android.
Julian Corbett will be heading the regional Headquarters as the APAC President based in Singapore. Working to build Voodoo’s presence in APAC regions since May, he brings a strong track record of successfully scaling businesses in Asia as the co-founder and Chairman of Ksubaka and previously Asia VP of Publishing at Take-Two Interactive. In his team, Ben Fox will be taking on the role of Head of Japan and brings with him a wealth of experience from his previous roles at Rockstar Games and most recently NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation.
Voodoo’s decision to further its influence in the APAC region and open new offices in Singapore & Japan, with further openings to follow, is reflective of its understanding of the importance of the APAC market. As 50% of the global gaming market is situated there, Voodoo plans to bring its unrivalled expertise in the hyper casual market to this audience. Voodoo has already seen great success in the region, currently ranking as the number one HC publisher in most territories. The opening of dedicated offices will enable Voodoo to maximise opportunities in distributing localized and adapted games in the region and broadening the reach of the companies Publishing strength.
Voodoo’s APAC offices will operate as an extension of its Paris-based publishing capability, working with local studios to coach on how best to optimise, monetise, and market their games. On-the-ground presence will be supported by the wider Voodoo team, as well as their innovative dashboard, allowing developers to work transparently with Voodoo publishing managers to create the next chart-topping title.
Julian Corbett commented of the expansion saying;
We are thrilled to be moving into the APAC region, not only to accelerate our growth in this critical region but also to bring our publishing expertise and unlock international reach for many of the innovative gameplays emerging from this part of the world. We remain focused on our mission to find, help, develop, and publish all the great games that can entertain the world.
The Singapore and Japan studio openings follow recent international openings in Istanbul, Berlin, Amsterdam & Barcelona – truly demonstrating Voodoo’s drive to develop and drive the hyper casual market globally. Voodoo’s rapid expansion is reflective of its unique and agile approach to publishing; from coaching and iterating, marketing and monetisation – through to supporting on live ops.
